4 images of zoo animals in a 'cage&'. To be laminated and hole-punched, or stuck onto thick card and small snips at the top and bottom edges made. The children can then lace a thread or weave some string/wool, depending on their fine motor ability. Their lacing/weaving will become the bars of the cage. Goldilocks dictionary sheets, to encourage alphabetical order, and for children to use when writing the story or sentences.

A shared writing or independent work idea, linking up both Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell and learning the sequence of the days of the week.

Designed for use at circle time/carpet time. A set of 5 questions describing 5 different zoo animals. Each question is made up of 3 hints, each getting easier. Could differentiate for younger children by displaying images/toys of the animals while they are listening to the questions/hints. PowerPoint based on Ylvis' viral video song. The fox displays high frequency and tricky words from Phonics Letters and Sounds first 100 words (mainly phases 2-4) for children to read.
